Clarity Counselling.....talking freely, being heard and feeling valued.

What is counselling?

Welcome to my website. I am passionate about helping people work through and make sense of their lives , which often involves/includes past, present and future anxieties/challenges.  Most talking therapies involve sitting with the counsellor and talking about what's brought you to the counselling room. I am a person centered therapist offering face to face sessions , email and telephone sessions and walk and talk therapy and support ( I can also offer online sessions at request).  My approach is person centered and tailored to the individual.  I do not give advice. I believe with the assistance of counselling people have the ability to find their own solutions and the power to make positive change by exploring their choices and circumstances/ life experiences. I offer a safe space for you to 'Be you' and to assist and help you to look at things from different perspectives which will encourage you to explore yourself and also the issues which you bring to the counselling sessions . Counselling can be short or long term. This is down to what you feel is most helpful. I offer a safe space for you to explore your issues. counselling has the potential to be the ultimate self care, which could help you to feel more positive about yourself and increase self worth , alleviate pain and distress and help you feel better about your overall wellbeing and mental health. Counselling isn't a magic cure , it is a process of exploration and self awareness,  to enable clarity, self worth and growth.

Is counselling for me ?

Counselling isn't for Everyone. I offer an initial consultation where we can talk about your expectations of therapy and how counselling could help.  This initial assessment is more like a chat , how I can help you and how you can help yourself.  This is free of charge and usually takes around 10 minutes. I offer face to face sessions,  email Counselling and telephone counselling as well as online sessions at request.  All information is kept confidential. This will be discussed in more detail when we initially meet /speak.

History of clarity counselling.

I am a Qualified Therapeutic Counsellor. I am also a registered Member of the BACP.

I began counselling as a volunteer in 2007. After just over 4 years I set up my private practice (2012). I also along side counselling have worked in domiciliary care for 20 years which I have recently left.  I have experience working with many issues and challenges from Anxiety, OCD, childhood trauma, adult trauma, low mood, low confidence, abuse, loss, grief, relationships, self worth, work place challenges, upset, regret, guilt, shame. I have also worked with older people and specifically those caring for a loved one living with dementia and know first hand how challenging and life changing this can be.
